For US customers

To my dear US customers,

Due to the US government imposing tariffs on foreign goods in 2025, I have been forced to make a few changes to your shopping experience here at Ikigai Papir. 

I'm just one person running this shop, my little passion project, and it's never fun to impose extra fees on customers. In fact, I've always eaten some of the shipping costs myself, to make the experience more pleasant for my customers. With this policy change in the US though, I have to make some changes.

The situation:

The US imposed a 15% tariff (like VAT/sales tax, but for foreign goods) on Norwegian products in August 2025.

From January 1st 2026, the Norwegian postal service is able to handle the collection of tariffs and customs fees for shipments to the US. 

What this means for you:

Prices at Ikigai Papir will now be 15% higher. The 15% price increase is for US customers ONLY.
In addition, the shipping prices now include the customs fees (the fees US customs charge to process the packages when they arrive in the US). The fee is 23,50 NOK (around USD 2.35) per package.
There is also a 2,5% processing fee, which I'm going to cover for now.

This means both the product prices and shipping prices will look slightly higher. As the sender, I will pay the tariffs, customs fee and processing fee upon sending the package. This way, you won't be charged any extra fees upon receiving the package in the US.

I appreciate my US customers a great deal, and I want to make this change as painless as possible for you all. I'm sorry for the additional cost, but I have to follow US laws when shipping to the US.
